The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. NOW has 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Since its founding in 1966, NOW’s goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control, and reproductive rights for all women; and end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism, and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society.
Job Opportunity: Oregon NOW Executive Director
The Executive Director of Oregon NOW is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Oregon NOW. The position is part-time (30 hours/month) with flexible hours and location. In its next Executive Director, Oregon NOW seeks an individual who is committed to NOW’s priority issues and the intersectionality at the core of NOW’s work that places marginalized women at the center of our policy solutions and our advocacy, and who can continue to grow Oregon NOW’s state-level advocacy work, maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, and support the efforts of local NOW chapters in Oregon. Lisa Frack, President
Lisa is an experienced communications professional in the social justice and environmental health fields. She has a masters in public policy (MPP) and her communications work includes time advocating for policy change at the national and local levels. Her most recent position in Oregon focused on women’s economic justice issues with a focus on the intersection of care work and economic stability, including paid sick time, equal pay, and affordable childcare. Lisa recently completed an assignment on a Portland Public Schools advisory committee that updated the student dress code policy to be gender neutral. She is also a founder of The Mother PAC, an Oregon political action committee that works to elect candidates who champion mothers’ economic security issues. Lisa lives in Portland with her husband and two children.
Elleanor Chin, Vice President
Elleanor is a litigation consultant, writer, and freelance troublemaker. She’s a contributor to BlueOregon, Bitch Media, and Feministing, among others.
Serena Cruz, Treasurer
Serena is the Executive Director of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation. She is a former Multnomah County Commissioner.
Kristin Teigen, Secretary
Kristin is an educator at Portland State University and at Marylhurst University. She is also a nonprofit consultant for anti-oppression organizations. She is the immediate past president of Oregon NOW and previously worked at National NOW.

Michelle Ganow-Jones, Executive Director
Michelle works to build the capacity of the chapter, develop relationships with other organizations across the state, and engage in outreach to NOW members in Oregon. Previously, Michelle worked in the public and non-profit sectors on a range of funding and policy issues related to supports for children and families.
