Proposed Amendments to Oregon NOW Bylaws and Operating Rules

The following proposed amendments to the Oregon NOW Bylaws and Operating Rules were presented to the Oregon NOW board, which voted to recommend that these amendments be voted on at the Oregon NOW Annual Meeting & Conference on April 15.

Per the bylaws and operating rules, the Oregon NOW Bylaws and Operating rules may be amended by a 3/5 vote of members present and voting.

The purpose of these proposed amendments is to stagger elected board terms. Currently, all positions are elected on a biannual cycle. These amendments would create a one-year term for half of the positions, and elect the other half of the positions to two-year terms. Thereafter, elections would be held at each annual meeting for half of the elected board positions.

The proposed amendments also update the operating rules to reflect the $40 annual membership dues that were approved by the Oregon NOW board last year.
