At this year’s annual meeting, we’re coming together to take action on one of NOW’s core issues: Ending Violence Against Women.
Our movement knows that violence against women is not a single issue — it’s a web of harm that includes domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, trafficking, violence against abortion clinics, and hate crimes targeting gender, sexuality, and race. To end this violence, we must confront the systems and attitudes that allow it to continue — and organize for change. We take on several key aspects of this issue!
This year’s agenda is designed to spark conversation, connection, and action:
Address from Congresswoman Val Hoyle
- Red Shawl Solidarity Project – Honoring missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls
- Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence – Statewide update and strategy
- Prostitution: Reducing Men’s Demand – Learning about the Nordic Model and policy approaches
- Resolutions & 2026 Priorities – Setting the course for Oregon NOW’s advocacy in the year ahead, proposed Resolution on Age Verification
🗳️ - Plus: Elections for Oregon NOW Board
Our members will elect Vice-President, Secretary, and three Board At-Large positions. Nominations remain open until 11:00 AM on October 4th — and voting will take place 12:00–12:30 PM that same day. Questions?: Contact Kelly at 971-208-3208.
Ending violence against women is at the heart of what NOW does. Your voice, your vote, and your ideas are critical as we chart the path forward together. Join us in person or online! We welcome your involvement as a member or volunteer!
